A major milestone was achieved in March 2024 when Prime Minister Modi inaugurated 19 kilometers of the Dwarka Expressway. This new road brings relief to thousands of daily commuters between Delhi and Gurgaon. The story of Dwarka Expressway began in 2007. It was first planned as an 18-kilometer smooth road without any traffic signals called the Northern Peripheral Road (NPR). While 14 kilometers were built by 2016, other issues like moving trees, court cases, COVID-19 lockdowns, and construction bans due to pollution slowed down the work.

Property prices in sectors near the expressway have doubled in the last five years.
